Camp Dues

Picture
The camp fee for this year is $300* per person.  That covers food, water, grey water removal, snow cone supplies, power, village dues, and camp infrastructure.  It applies whether you stay for 3 nights or 7. There are lots of  reasons for this one-fee-applies-to-all approach.  It comes down to striking a balance between time and energy.  If you're attending for 3-4 nights in the middle of the week then all the time-consuming prep, set-up and breakdown happens without you.  It's done by people that spend upwards of 12 days on the playa.  If you're here for the entire time you consume more of everything.  It's simply too hard to have different fees for people staying different lengths of time.  Too many variables to juggle, so we don't.

If you are a coming up for a shorter stay please bear in mind that our camp makes it sooooo easy for you to attend without thinking about the essentials like food, water, a shower or "How can I participate?".  We are a "plug and play" camp for many of you.  If you're one of the lucky folks coming for a longer stay, remember that you will spend little or no money your entire time here.  This fee covers ALL you basic needs.

The easiest way  for us to collect the money is through Paypal.

*$300 is a $25 increase from the last couple of years.  In order to cover the cost of purchasing a storage container that will be stored near the Burning Man
site, we need some additional funds for a year or so.   This increase is in lieu of doing a camp fundraiser or engaging in other fund raising activities.

I need to receive payments from everyone by July 31st, but dealing with it sooner is much appreciated.
Please send Paypal payments to me at this address: [email protected]  Make sure you include WHO the money is covering.  Please try to do this soon.

If you don't use Paypal, contact me directly and then you can just send a check. I'd prefer to deal with it as soon as possible.  We need to confirm our budget for all sorts of expenses and 95% of the money is spent prior to event.  If possible I don't want to be dealing with money matters on the playa.

If this amount is a real hardship as in "I don't think I can attend Burning Man if I have to pay that much," please contact me directly.

We keep a running account of where all the money is spent.  Some day, some year, a spreadsheet will be posted on-line after the Burn for review and discussion.

The Dinner Plan

Picture

We know that cooking for 75 people isn't something most of us ever have to do.  Jeffrey and the meal crew break down the task into more do-able chunks

Making a dinner doesn’t mean you need to plan it completely. If you’re on this list and willing to do the cooking, Jeffrey Schneider, our kitchenmeister, can help plan the dinner and offer whatever amount of supervision you feel you need.

Again, once people agree in principal to cooking a dinner, we'll arrange who will shop and how to best prep each meal.
